Report: Kirby School District spent $12,551 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Kirby School District 140 was up 7.8 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $11,640 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,551 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 3,601 to 3,606 students over the same period.

Kirby's spending in 2019-20 was 13.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
