Report: Midlothian School District spent $11,372 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Midlothian School District 143 was up 16.4 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $9,768 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,372 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,859 to 1,732 students over the same period.

Midlothian's spending in 2019-20 was 21.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
