Mayor Casey stated we are making changes to the overnight parking requests. Starting January 1, 2022 the online request system will only accept one request per visit to the website and you can only use the overnight parking four (4) times a month. These changes are due to abuse of the system over the past year.
We will be keeping a very close eye on these requests going forward. We understand there is a parking issue which is why Building Commissioner Forbes will address the issue of widening the driveways at the next meeting unless the City Council wants to change the overnight parking ordinance to allow overnight parking. No Alderman voiced a desire to change the ordinance. Mayor Casey gave the following updates regarding on going issues. The Go Puff building renovations are completed and the building will be turned over to Go Puff this week and they anticipate opening in a month.
The recreation cannabis people are moving forward with the Advocate Building. The Eco Brite Car Wash has started to submit permits for their location renovation. The first “FACTS NOT FACEBOOK” meeting will be held on December 11, 2021 at Noon at the Patterson Park Building. Santa will be going through town again this year on a Fire truck on December 18 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Santa will be at Patterson Park on December 19th for pictures. Details to follow. There was another state gaming meeting and no new licenses were awarded to the applicants for Hometown. Mayor Casey stated things are going well. There was some discussion regarding the new car wash regarding street and parking lot work.
