Report: Cook County School District spent $14,196 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Cook County School District 130 was up 17.6 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $12,075 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,196 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 3,735 to 3,433 students over the same period.

Cook County's spending in 2019-20 was 2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
