Report: Homewood School District spent $12,804 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Homewood School District 153 was up 5.1 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $12,182 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,804 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 1,919 to 1,969 students over the same period.

Homewood's spending in 2019-20 was 11.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
