Report: Thornton School District spent $14,433 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Thornton School District 154 was up 3 percent from five years ago, according to the South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $14,016 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,433 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 214 to 226 students over the same period.

Thornton's spending in 2019-20 was 0.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
