The last time #13 Olivet Nazarene (25-3, 19-1 CCAC) men's basketball lost a game was in the year 2021. The Tigers came to DeVos Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon and won their 13th consecutive game, beating Trinity Christian College (10-18, 6-15) by a final of 101-75.
Sophomore Dustin Hudak came out of the gate firing for the Trolls. Entering the game he had just five made three-pointers. On Saturday, he drilled five total to pace the offense with 19 points.
Hudak had four of his five three-pointers in the first five minutes of the game. After hitting the fourth triple, the Trolls trailed 18-15. The Tigers used a steady diet of their big man, senior Alex Gross. He helped the Tigers push the lead to 20 points in the first half. He ended the day with 27 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists.
Trinity Christian tried to use the three-point line to get back into the game. Junior Vince Overway hit one of his five three-pointers to open the second half and cut the ONU lead to 55-37. That was the closest the Trolls could get the rest of the night. Trinity finished the game 18-for-62 from the three-point line. The 62 attempts is a season high. The previous high was 39 attempts on Nov. 20 against St. Ambrose.
