REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS

Office of the Mayor

Mayor Casey stated he spoke with the owner of the empty lot by the bank to see what his plans are for the lot and to let him know the driveway in front of the lot is down to almost nothing. He said he will be in for a visit in March, and he plans to pave the driveway. The blueprint and permits for the Car Wash have been turned in and they plan to start demo March 1, 2022. Mayor Casey reported he has gone past Go Puff and they look ready to go but no one has been around. There is nothing new on the recreational cannabis licenses. The Church deal took a big step forward then came to a screeching halt. One of the parties feels he should get more money even though he did not live there thirty years like the other party. There is a gaming hearing Thursday, we sent a letter asking them to deny the license if they did not have plans to consider them. There was an incident at one of the stores in the shopping center and the tenant was extremely rude to our police officer that responded. The Chief will meet with the tenant to get things straightened out. The second Facts not Facebook meeting was well attended, and everyone left happy. Pizza Plus new owners should be opening February 1, 2022. We will have Kristine do free testing on Mondays from 3-5 p.m. at Patterson Park. Kristine is a Hometown resident and has been so helpful testing residents at their home.
