Analysis: Ford Heights administrators rank 124th in state for average pay

Administrators in Ford Heights School District 169 earn an average of $126,431 per year, ranking 124th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 1 percent higher than in 2016 and 7.8 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 13.6 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Ford Heights School District in Cook County enrolled 437 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 73 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
