City of Country Club Hills City Council met June 6.

1. CALL TO ORDER – JAMES W. FORD, MAYOR
A Regular Meeting of the City Council, City of Country Club Hills, Cook County, State of Illinois, was held in the City Hall, 4200 W. 183rd Street at 7:43p.m. The meeting was called to order by the Honorable James W. Ford, Mayor.

The Pledge of allegiance was presented by all in attendance and lead by Mayor Ford.

5. COMMUNICATIONS AND REPORTS BY MAYOR FORD:
Mayor Ford shared the College Scholarship presentation has been reschedule for July 25th
6. CITY CLERK’S REPORT – PATRICIA D. HUTSON, CITY CLERK
Clerk Hutson shared the city is accepting applications for Summer Interns ages 16 to 24. Mayor Ford shared the city is hiring Summer Interns for public works, the CRC, City Hall and the theater. He also shared adults are asked to volunteer for the theater.
Clerk Hutson shared she recently held a voter registration drive with deputy registrars in the lobby of city Hall. Shared all information on mail-in ballots, with a permanent vote by mail is in the lobby and on the website for the upcoming June 28th Election.
Clerk Hutson shared the city hold its Fireworks Show Sunday July 3rd at the theater, gates open at 6pm and fireworks at dusk.

9. PUBLIC PORTION OF MEETING
1. Lillie Jenkins, resident on Lavergne, shared her frustrations regarding the CRG project in front of her home. She shared the construction site is dirty and dusty. She shared her house and driveway needs to be power washed. She shared she has been a constant beautification award winner and with the past two years of construction she has found it uninspirational and expensive to keep the dirt off of her home. She said she spends more money using water to clean her windows, porch and home and it is unfair that she has to spend her money to remove the dirt. Mayor Ford shared he will address her concerns, have the house power washed and will have a solution soon.
2. Sallie Hall, resident on Lavergne, shared she has the same concerns as her neighbor and she wants to know when will they see relief.Mayor Ford shared the construction will end when the building is occupied.
3. Karen Frazier Lloyd, resident on Summerhill, shared she is concerned about the dirt and wants to know when this will be over. She shared she gets it from both sides f her home, her home vibrates and she has reached out to the site manager and Building Commissioner Jones about her concerns. .
4. Pastor Blackmon, resident Lavergne, shared he has the same concerns as his neighbors and added there is a terrible smell associated with the construction site.
5. Dorothy Barnes, resident on Lavergne, shared she too lives across the street from the construction site. She shared the dust and dirt has affected her air conditioning unit and her deck is covered in dirt.
6. Nancy Sweitzer, resident, shared her concerns about information on the website that shows a Comprehensive Plan with no additional information or dates. She also shared her concerns about the open gym, no updated Park District Budget, is there a list of duties for positions, job descriptions and updated meeting minutes have not been posted for April and May.
7. 18055 Laverne, He wanted to know what will be done, will there be regular cleaning, what type of relief will be done? What form of communication will the city use to inform resident of the status?
8. Nancy Sweitzer, resident, she has several concerns about Country Club Hills.

11. ALDERMANIC REPORTS
Ald. Lockett asked everyone to keep his mom in your prayers as she is recovering from an illness. He asked for a moment of silence for longtime resident and former city employee Mary Kuta. He also asked for prayers for former Community Service Officer Trotter on the recent loss of his wife. Lastly, Ald. Lockett asked for prayers for mental health.
Evans, thanked the residents on Lavergne for coming and proposed the city establish communication for the Fawn Ridge, Churchill Downs residents regarding the construction concerns.
Spivey asked if the city can have the project manager in to discuss the residents’ concerns and to see if they are willing to partner with the city for a resolution.
Edwards, He is humbled to work for his Ward and Country Club Hills. He also shared it’s not about the money. Lastly, he shared we need to create an ordinance for diesel fumes that may affect residents in the of the CRG project.
