Selah Hopkins retained her lead in the CCAC scoring race, but Trinity Women's Soccer was unable to overcome a pair of first-half goals as Olivet Nazarene defeated the Trolls, 2-1.
The Tigers (4-3-1, 3-0-1 CCAC) managed to out-shoot Trinity (3-3-3, 2-1-1 CCAC) by an 11-4 margin in the first half, breaking through the defense for goals in the 21st and 33rd minutes to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
Hopkins put the Trolls on the board in the 66th minute, scoring on a free kick to cut the deficit in half. Litzy Corona fired three shots on goal throughout the match, including two in the first half, but was unable to get one past the Olivet keeper as the home side took the win.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon, when they host Trinity International at the Schaaf Athletic Complex. Kickoff with the Trojans on September 24 is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
