Two goals in a five-minute span put the Trolls in control, as Trinity secured their third shutout win of the season, 4-0 over Trinity International at Schaaf Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Grace Wieneke put the Trolls on the scoreboard, with an assist from Litzy Corona in the 35th minute. Just five minutes later, Madison Ling struck for her fourth goal of the season to give Trinity a 2-0 advantage.
The Trolls continued the pressure in the second half, as Claire Darby took a pass from Demi Scibetta and put it in the back of the net in the 65th minute. In the closing minutes, Selah Hopkins added one more, claiming the top of the CCAC scoring leaderboard with her 10th goal of the season.
Facing just one shot on goal throughout the match, Michelle Urribarri picked up the shutout victory in goal.
With the win, Trinity is in a four-way tie atop the CCAC standings, with ten points though five conference matches. The next test for the Trolls comes on Wednesday afternoon, as they meet co-leaders St. Ambrose at Schaaf Athletic Complex. Kickoff with the Bees, with first place in the conference on the line, is set for 4:00 p.m.
