Key points:
Pekau: “Governor Pritzker doesn’t actually tackle problems in a serious way, and there’s no question about the fact that there are offenses in the SAFE-T Act that are non-detainable unless very specific criteria are met. So offenders are going to be required to be released for things like second degree murder, for arson, for aggravated assault, for aggravated discharge of a weapon. They’re going to be required to be released. To keep someone in jail, you’re basically going to have two options: hold them or release them. We’ve already got criminals in that category that are being released on $250 bails that they have to put up to get out. Now do you think a judge that lets someone leave for $250 cash is going to keep them or release them?”
Ingraham: We see people and businesses are either thinking about leaving or leaving Illinois and Chicago. How is JB Pritzker even seriously considered at all for re-election? Given what they did during COVID, they kept students locked down, the increase in crime, and the fact that all these people are abandoning the state. How is he even thought to be re-elected?
Pekau: “I have a piece of Chicago, and I am going to flip this seat. My opponent supports all of these policies… the same policies as JB Pritzker. I can tell you the constituents in my district don’t support them.”
