City of Oak Forest Veterans Commission met Oct. 20.
Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

5. OLD BUSINESS:
Flag receptacle now has plastic pallets for bottom to keep the flags dry. There are three inside the flag box, standing up, we will have to configure for the box.
Don Snedden is coordinating a flag retirement at a friend’s house.
Oak Forest High School art students painted the base of Nike Hercules missile at Oak Forest Park District. The project was coordinated by Tom Ceska with the Dan Chambers, art teacher at Oak Forest High school.
Are we changing the parade theme or a different venue and date? Suggested to change the theme to “Home Town Heroes”. Any more ideas?
One of our members could use a little yard clean-up assistance. We will assist in cleaning things up for him.

November 11th Friday is Veterans day what should we do?
November 17 is our next meeting can we move up the time to 18:00.

1962 War Breaks Out Between India and China
The month-long border dispute began after the Chinese launched a two-pronged attack on the border between the two countries.
