The village of Burr Ridge addressed issues and an improvement project for a street in the area. Evan Walter, a village trustee, said that he wanted decisions on these matters to be made faster.

A neighbor came in to speak to the board about a road construction project they were approving, citing worries about safety and pedestrian access in the region. He believed that additional signage and a stricter and slower speed limit were needed due to the high amount of pedestrian traffic in the area and the amount of close calls he and all his neighbors have experienced.

"But I think that crosswalk is definitely something the board has made it clear that as a direction of a priority for staff to tackle immediately, we want to continue to make sure that road is as safe as possible" Walter said. "We've asked for that road to actually be turned over to the village so those decisions can be made even faster on the residents behalf. So I hope to hear progress on that shortly."

Trustee Francis agreed with the neighbor and requested that a portion of the contract include some signage and crosswalk enhancements for the area on 79th street improvement project. The trustees agreed and planned to order two ordinary signs right away for the street, and continue discussing light up signs and solar powered options for the area. The village is still debating choices for lasting signage in the region.

The road is technically owned by the county who has not responded to any of the issues so far, however they were asking for permits for project and improvement rights. They are interested in finding solar powered or electrical options for the crosswalk signs.
