Village of Bridgeview Personnel Board met Feb. 27.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Chairman Lewis called the February 27, 2023 meeting of the Personnel Board to order at 6:00pm.
Roll Call indicated that Members Ahmad, Regep, Gholeh, Mazarka and Chairman Lewis were present. There was a quorum. Also present was Secretary to the Personnel Board, Cathy Siciliano.
Chairman Lewis looked for a motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held on January 30, 2023. Motion was made by Member Regep and seconded by Member Mazarka. Roll call vote:
AYES: Members Ahmad, Regep, Gholeh, Mazarka and Chairman Lewis.
NAYS: None.
There being five ayes and no nays, the MOTION CARRIED.
Chairman Lewis looked for a motion to go into closed session for matters of personnel. Motion was made by Member Gholeh and seconded by Member Ahmad. Roll call vote:
AYES: Members Ahmad, Regep, Gholeh, Mazarka and Chairman Lewis.
NAYS: None.
There being five ayes and no nays, the MOTION CARRIED.
The Personnel Board went into closed session at 6:03pm.
The Personnel Board went back into open session at 6:06pm.
Chairman Lewis looked for a motion to approve the closed session minutes of January 30, 2023. Motion was made by Member Gholeh and seconded by Member Regep. Roll call vote:
AYES: Members Ahmad, Regep, Gholeh, Mazarka and Chairman Lewis.
NAYS: None.
There being five ayes and no nays, the MOTION CARRIED.
Chairman Lewis stated that the Mayor wanted the Personnel Board “to hold off on the entry level Firefighter process for just a bit and also the promotion.” Chairman Lewis presented papers regarding the process for entry level Firefighters and info regarding the promotional process for the Police Department. He asked the members to review both. He asked that if anyone sees anything out of the ordinary to let him know. He also stated that he ran both past the attorney, Fire Chief and the Mayor and that there was nothing in there that (not audible). He also stated that when the Personnel Board gets the go ahead, the dates of the process can be put in. A discussion followed regarding the process.
Chairman Lewis looked for a motion to adjourn. Motion was made by Member Regep and seconded by Member Gholeh. By voice vote, the MOTION CARRIED. The meeting adjourned at 6:11pm.
