Illinois’ House District 30 candidate Bonk: ‘Black Excellence Hour Live’

Patricia Bonk, the candidate for Illinois’ House District 30, recently participated in an event titled "Black Excellence Hour Live" hosted by P Rae, a prominent figure in Black Excellence Hour PRIMETIME. The live show was held at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park on Dec. 27, providing a platform for political and social influencers to engage in discussions about maintaining influence in Chicago.

The event, described as “inspiring and empowering,” aimed to shape a collective vision for the future, emphasizing the importance of the #BlackChicago voice remaining influential and impactful in the years to come, according to an invitation for the event. Host P Rae expressed excitement about taking the show on the road, inviting attendees to join for an in-person episode of Black Excellence Hour to discuss politics, culture, and plans for the upcoming 2024 election. The event provided an opportunity for influencers, community members, and political figures like Bonk to come together, fostering dialogue and collaboration for a shared vision.

The Black Excellence Hour PRIMETIME is centered around engaging conversations about contemporary matters, news, and topics relevant to the Black American community. Hosted by P Rae who is often referred to as Chicago's #1 Black Conservative Talk Show Host, according to BlogTalkRadio. Rae also emphasized that her show focuses on highlighting the greatness and value of the Black community to the nation.

Bonk has a background as a registered nurse and has worked as an emergency responder and firefighter for the Villages of Lemont and Northwest Homer. She currently serves as a Trustee in the Midlothian Library Board and actively participates in the Midlothian policing committee. As a cancer survivor herself, Bonk also serves as a Team Leader for the South Suburban Cancer Walk, according to her website.

Illinois’ House District 30 includes communities such as Dolton, South Holland, Harvey, Markham, Oak Forest, Midlothian, and Homewood as well as parts of Tinley Park and Olympia Fields. The district is currently represented by State Rep. Will Davis (D-Homewood). He has been in his role for 20 years and intends to seek another term to represent District 30, according to Ballotpedia.
