2024 FLOCK LPR CAMERA ACTIVITY

• YTD-10 hits

• FLOCK activity includes citations, arrests, stolen vehicles and identification of vehicles used in other crimes.

• Once fully operational, we will have a total of 9 LPR cameras.

OLD BUSINESS

• The department received a $10,000 reimbursement grant from the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA) for the purchase of our body cameras.

• We are pursuing additional grants to supplement our body camera costs.

• We are in receipt of the body cameras and presently configuring them to our departmental standards.

• Following the May 15th

•2024, Axon training our body camera system should be fully operational.

NEW BUSINESS

• The Forrest Ridge Homeowners Association is requesting the City Council to adopt an agreement with the City to enforce parking violations on their private roads.

• Amendment of local ordinance 74.028 to include language as it relates to "electronic communication devices."

• Deputy Chief Yott submitted the Equitable Sharing Agreement for the Drug Asset Forfeiture Fund. The total amount of DAF funds are presently at $685,639.25.

• The Flock surveillance camera should be operational by March Public Safety meeting.

CORRESPONDENCE/EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION

• The West Chicago Police Department wrote a letter expressing gratitude to TFO Eric Czajkowski in the apprehension of several subjects that were involved in a violent armed robbery in West Chicago.

• The Palos Hills Police Department wrote a letter expressing gratitude to the department, specifically Sergeant Walter Droba, for assisting them locate and apprehend a suspect who committed a commercial burglary in Palos Hills.

• Alderman Bob Basso and several residents of Palos Heights thanked Sergeant Pamitzke and Detective Moritz for their diligence in apprehending an assailant who was stealing mail from their sub-division. They were all appreciative of the hard work and time that they put in to solving this case.

• Chief Czajkowski would like to thank Sergeant Pamitzke, Detective Moritz, and the officers that helped the Investigations Bureau with search warrants, arrests, seizures and evidence processing related to the mail theft investigation. Many hours have been logged to guarantee a successful criminal prosecution.

• A resident sent a Facebook message thanking Detective Todd Hutchinson for tracing a stolen check back to a bank in Las Vegas, she stated that Todd went above and beyond and was very complimentary of him.

• Chief Czajkowski would also to recognize Officer Joe Carlson for assisting a young woman from Alabama that was abandoned on the Westside of Chicago and robbed of her belongings. After treatment at Northwestern of Palos, arrangements were made to get the victim back home to her family.
