The City of Hometown Ordinance No. 3-1989 provides for passing the Chicago Water and Sewer increase onto the residents of Hometown. The City of Chicago increased the water rate as of June 1, 2024. The current minimum water is $40.06, with the City of Chicago increase of 3.37% it will bring the new minimum charge to $41.41. So, the new minimum bill for water and sewer will be $65.79 per month, which will be reflected on the July bill that is due August 15, 2024.
