According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 2749 students during the year. This equates to 85 percent of the 3,238 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for 44 incidents with violence that caused physical injury, 85 incidents with violence without physical injury, 10 incidents with alcohol and tobacco, 23 incidents with drugs, four incidents witha dangerous weapon firearm,11 incidents with a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons, of which there were 2,235. There were 35 incidents of violence without injury. For 1,825 incidents, students were suspended for one to two days.
Boy students received 1,451 suspensions, while 1,081 girls were suspended.
There were 2,749 high school students suspended in 2021-22 school year.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons, of which there were 337. There were 50 incidents of violence without injury. For 126 incidents, students were suspended for three to four days.
