City of Calumet City Council met Aug. 30

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

1) CALL TO ORDER

2) ROLL CALL

4) Mayor’s Report

5) Discussion and approval of Resolution authorizing the law firm of Ancel Glick to intervene in the PTAB 23-31290 and 23-33942, action that has to be authorized by Friday, August 30, 2024.

6) Discussion and action on South Suburban College recycling program with the City of Calumet City for the 2024-2025 season.

7) Discussion and approval of Motion to approve payment to Law Office of Anthony Bass, in the amount of $15,000.00 for Legal and Consulting Services dated July 20, 2024 - August 20, 2024, and direct the City Treasurer to remit payment from account #01025-52200. (hourly billing per ordinance and per city council direction).

8) Part and/or all of this meeting may be held in executive Session on matters pertaining to personal litigation, Collective bargaining and employment.

9) Motion to direct the City Treasurer to remit payment to Holland Asphalt in the amount of $20,420.00 for the emergency demolition of property located at 107 Sibley due to a fire that created unsafe, unsanitary conditions. Charged to account #01099-52645.

10) Motion to direct the City Treasurer to remit payment to Holland Asphalt in the amount of $13,800.00 plus $300.00 Cook County Permit, for the emergency demolition of property located at 202-156th due to a fire that created unsafe, unsanitary conditions. Charged to account #01099-52645.

11) Motion to direct the City Treasurer to remit payment to Holland Asphalt in the amount of $17,200.00 plus $450.00 Cook County Permit, for the emergency demolition of property located at 905-163rd St. due to deterioration of structure integrity that created unsafe, unsanitary conditions. Charged to account #01099-52645.
