City of Palos Heights Finance Committee met Aug. 13 

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL:

Roll call indicated the following were present:

Alderman Jeffrey Key Alderman Michael McGrogan

Alderman McGovern City Clerk Shannon Harvey

City Treasurer James Daemicke City Administrator David Strohl

Director of Accounting Janice Colvin

The Finance Chairman called to order the regular meeting of the Finance Committee at 6:30 p.m. in the City Administrative Center, 7607 W. College Drive, Palos Heights, IL

1. Roll Call

2. Approve minutes of 06/11/2024 special meeting:

Chairman McGovern motioned to approve the 6/11/2024 special meeting minutes, seconded by Alderman McGovern. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

3. Approval of Thomas Brown Bills

Chairman McGovern motioned to approve Thomas Brown Bills, seconded by Alderman Key. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

4. Approval of Hiskes & Dillner Bills

Chairman McGovern motioned to approve Hiskes & Dillner Bills, seconded by Alderman McGovern. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

5. Approval of Morris Bills

Chairman McGovern motioned to approve Morris Bills and to pay as the funds are received, seconded by Alderman McGovern. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

6. Approval of Laner Muchin Bills

Chairman McGovern motioned to approve Laner Muchin, seconded by Alderman Key.

On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

7. View Transit Shelter Advertising Agreement 

Janice Colvin explained that the ongoing agreement is 20% or $600, whichever is greater. This is a ten-year renewal agreement. Currently there is only one bus shelter in Palos.

Alderman Key noted that because there is a percentage attached to it, it protects and future increase in revenue.

Alderman Key motioned to approve the Transit Shelter Advertising Agreement, seconded by Alderman McGovern. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

8. Old Business

Alderman McGrogan is trying to arrange another meeting with the compensation consultant. Alderman McGovern notified the committee of an article in the IML June 2024 article that discusses the compensation studies.

9. New Business

Alderman McGrogan suggested that Aimee Ingalls start working on extending the TIFF district extension to the Harlem overlay.

10. Questions or comments from the audience: None

11. Adjournment

There being no further business, Alderman McGrogan moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman Key favor. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
