Village of Bridgeview Board of Trustees met Aug. 21

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of the Village of Bridgeview was called to order by Clerk Altar at 12:01 p.m., on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. 

PLEDGE Clerk Altar led the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL Roll Call indicated the following Trustees present: Trustees Higginson, Pticek, Struzik, and Lewis.

Roll Call indiacated the following Trustees absent: Trustees Pinion and Baste. 

Also Present: Clerk Altar, Attorney Cainkar, Police Chief Mancha, Fire Chief Grzadziel, and Human Resources Director Pannaralla. 

2024-M-87 MAYOR PRO TEM

Motion by Trustee Lewis and seconded by Trustee Higginson to appoint Trustee Pticek as temporary Chairman of tonight's meeting. 

Upon roll call, the vote was: 

AYES: 4 - Trustees Higginson, Pticek, Struzik, and Lewis. 

NAYES: 0 

ABSENT: 2 - Trustees Pinion and Baste. 

There being four affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED

2024-M-88 APPROVE MINUTES OF AUGUST 7, 2024

Motion by Trustee Higginson and seconded by Trustee Struzik to approve the minutes of the regularly scheduled Board Meeting of August 7, 2024. Upon roll call, the vote was: 

AYES: 4 - Trustees Higginson, Pticek, Struzik, and Lewis. NAYES: 0 

ABSENT: 2 - Trustees Pinion and Baste. 

There being four affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED 

Trustee Baste entered the Board Meeting at 12:04 p.m. 

2024-M-89 APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF JANET MONDRAGON

Motion by Trustee Higginson and seconded by Trustee Struzik to approve the appointment of part-time police officer Janet Mondragon to the position of full- time police officer. 

Upon roll call, the vote was: 

AYES: 5 - Trustees Higginson, Pticek, Baste, Struzik, and Lewis. 

NAYES: 0 

ABSENT: 1 - Trustee Pinion. 

There being five affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED 

2024-M-90 APPROVE BILLS PAYABLE

Motion by Trustee Baste and seconded by Trustee Struzik to approve the bills payable as of August 21, 2024. 

Upon roll call, the vote was: 

AYES: 5 - Trustees Higginson, Pticek, Baste, Struzik, and Lewis. NAYES: 0 

ABSENT: 1 – Trustee Pinion. 

 There being five affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED

2024-M-91 ADJOURN 

Motion by Trustee Lewis and seconded by Trustee Higginson to adjourn the regular Board Meeting of August 21, 2024. 

AYES: 5 - Trustees Higginson, Pticek, Baste, Struzik, and Lewis. NAYES: 0 

ABSENT: 1 - Trustee Pinion. 

There being five affirmative votes, the MOTION CARRIED
