A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the City of Calumet City regarding unpaid parking violations on October 28, 2024. The request, made by South Cook News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, seeks detailed information about outstanding parking fines in the city.
In the request, we asked for a list of all parking violations currently unpaid. This includes details such as the name of the offender, their address, the amount due, violation date, and total due. We believe that access to these public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities as journalists.
