Doreen Wardell (nee Kilb), 92, was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Wardell and devoted mother of Steven Wardell. She was the cherished grandmother of Emily and Joseph Wardell and proud daughter of the late John and Thelma Kilb. Doreen was also a dear sister of Nancy Brunner, Joanne Karneffel, and Stephanie Hahn, and fond aunt of many relatives.

She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, where she volunteered as the church nurse and a member of the Mary Circle, as well as a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Doreen worked as a Medical/Surgical Nurse at South Suburban Hospital and as an Employee Health Nurse at St. James Hospital. In retirement, she volunteered at Palos Community Hospital's Emergency Room.

A visitation will be held on November 21, 2024, at Faith United Methodist Church in Orland Park, IL, followed by a service and private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to Breakthrough T1D, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, or Faith United Methodist Church are appreciated.
