Leonard Elias Etlinger, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 6, 2024, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Fannie, and children Thomas and Megan. Leonard was a dedicated academic, receiving degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Southern Illinois University of Carbondale and spending many years at Chicago State University and the City Colleges of Chicago. He was known for his passion for writing, his accomplishments in the field of education, and his love for sports like Judo, racquetball, and tennis. Leonard's sense of curiosity also extended to exploring different countries and enjoying science fiction literature. He will be remembered as a generous and unique individual, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love for his family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 20th at Orland Funeral Home, with the funeral service taking place on Saturday, December 21st at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago, followed by interment at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove, IL.
