On January 13, 2025, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A. The request was made by South Cook News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The FOIA request specifically asked for information regarding the number of non-U.S. citizens or "migrants" currently enrolled in the school district. This information is sought under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, and is requested preferably in an electronic format.
