A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Atwood Heights School District 125 regarding copies of all emails and memos from the past 12 months containing specific keywords. The request was made by South Cook News, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, on January 28, 2025.
The requested records specifically sought out documents that contained the keywords “Lucy Calkins” and “Units of Study”. As part of our role in disseminating information to the public, we at South Cook News believe access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
In light of our role as a media organization, we have also requested a fee waiver for this FOIA request. We continue to stand by our commitment in gathering and reporting news to the public with utmost accuracy and comprehensiveness.
