On January 28, 2025, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Reavis Township High School District 220. The request, made by South Cook News, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought access to all emails and memos from the past year containing the keywords "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study."

This information helps us fulfill our professional responsibilities by providing the public with crucial insights into the operations of their local government bodies.
The request further states that given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
