6. Discussion and Approval to Update Building Codes and Purchase Code Books
a.) Request approval to update building codes already adopted by the City of Palos Heights from 2009 ICC codes to 2024 ICC codes, including updating current 2011 City of Chicago Electrical Code. These updates will satisfy the required Public Act 103-0510 that amends the Capitol Development Board Act (20 ILCS 3105/1 et seq.). See attached Statewide Building Codes Fact Sheet as reference.
b.) Request for City Attorney to draw up new ordinance to adopt the 2024 ICC codes with amendments and present to the LPF Committee for approval.
c.) Request approval to purchase new hard copy 2024 code books, as well as digital copies for all new ICC codes and related codes.
