Tom and Joan Maloney Remembered at Joint Visitation Following Peaceful Passing of Joan

Orland Park, IL - Joan T. Maloney (née O’Donnell), 93, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, joining her beloved late husband Tom, whose wishes were to be memorialized alongside Joan. She is survived by her six children: Molly, Tommy (Deloris), Keary (Raymond) Fitzgerald, Billy (Gretchen), Jimmy, and Katie (Mike) DeMario; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A joint visitation for Tom and Joan will be held on Saturday, February 8th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at Thornridge Funeral Home in Orland Park. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mount St. Joseph for the care of daughter Molly.

Joan, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret O’Donnell, was born in 1931 in East Chicago, Indiana, where she was raised alongside her four siblings. She graduated from Bishop Noll High School, attended Mary Crest College, and earned her B.A. in Education from Indiana University. Joan dedicated her career to health education and various community service roles while raising her children with Tom in South Holland, Illinois.

With 63 years of marriage together, Joan and Tom are fondly remembered for their vibrant party-hosting spirit and a love for celebrating life. Their joint legacy lives on through their family and the countless memories created over the years.
