Blue Island – Maria N. Llerenas, 69, who worked as a dedicated secretary at St. Xavier University for over a decade, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Born on September 8, 1955, in Mexico to the late Pablo and Celerina Escalante, Maria is survived by her son Ayrton (Brenda), granddaughters Victoria R. and Kamila, and eleven siblings. Remembered for her reliability and care by colleagues, Maria cherished the joy her family brought to her life.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Donations to the family are appreciated, and cremation will be private.
