● YTD - 4 hits 

● FLOCK activity includes citations, arrests, stolen vehicles and identification of vehicles used in other crimes.

OLD BUSINESS: 

● Traffic Study findings related to Old Oak Trail. 

NEW BUSINESS: 

● Request a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado VIN#1GCUYAEF2LZ222102 to be declared surplus and sold. Sale proceeds to be deposited back into the Drug Asset Forfeiture Account. 

● Request the purchase of a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado police pickup truck from Currie Motors for $48,688.00. Vehicle pricing set by State of Illinois purchasing cooperative. Drug asset forfeiture funds to pay for purchase. 

● Traffic Study findings related to Old Oak Trail. 

● The Department was commended by the Illinois Training & Standards Board for full compliance related to certification of all of our officers. Out of 85 agencies assigned to the Northeast Region, Palos Heights was the only department that was 100% compliant. 

● The Departments of Justice and Treasury Report for Equitable Sharing was completed and filed accordingly. This report documents our expenditures as it related to asset forfeiture monies. Our report was reviewed and accepted and our agency is fully compliant. 

● We conducted a compliance meeting with our two contract tow companies to ensure all applied towing rates are consistent with the towing rates as set forth by the Illinois State Police. New rate sheets were agreed upon and will be posted. 

● The 2024 Way Forward Act report was filed with the Office of the Attorney General. This report relates to the Illinois Trust Act and documents protections for immigrants that have been the victims of violent crime, or human trafficking within our jurisdiction.

CORRESPONDENCE/EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION 

● Officer Marcinowski was awarded a Departmental Commendation for his vigilance that led to foiling an armed robbery at the 7-11 convenience store. The offenders were later apprehended with two fully automatic pistols. The offenders were also charged with multiple armed robberies in the Chicagoland metropolitan area. 

● A letter of gratitude was received from the parents of a child thanking Detective Moritz and Officer Delaney for their tireless efforts in locating a van that was perceived to be involved in a child luring incident. Moritz and Delaney also received Departmental Recognitions. 

● Officer Cynthia Sepulveda completed her one year probation with the department. Officer Sepulveda has proved to be a tremendous asset to our department. We are looking forward to many years of service from her. 

● Administrative Assistant Ms. Clara Rutz has announced her retirement after serving the police department for over 16-years. She was an amazing asset and will greatly be missed. 

● Shift Letters of Recognition for the B-Patrol Team for the barricaded, armed, suicidal subject at Northwestern Hospital. The shift was able to negotiate a peaceful ending to the incident. Several firearms were seized from the subject.
