Francis Jedlicka Jr., affectionately known as Jed, of Chicago Heights, peacefully passed away at home on February 11th, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Patricia and loving Father to Francis III (Carrie McClure) and James (Alison Armbruster). Proud Grandfather of Jack, Gavin, Mick, and Bradley. Jed was preceded in death by his parents Francis Sr. and Barbara Jedlicka, parents-in-law Frank and Christine Postma, sister-in-law Barbara Haan, brothers-in-law Douglas and Gregory.

Jed was a fun-loving uncle to 11 nieces and nephews, and 19 great-nieces and nephews. He opened his home to family, making it a welcoming place for all. Known as “Uncle Jed,” he cherished spending time with his family, attending various activities, ball games, and always providing a comforting presence.

Grandpa Jed found joy in supporting his grandchildren at the ice rink and various activities. He shared his interests in coin collecting, reading, and music with Jack, Gavin, Mick, and Bradley, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Throughout his life, Jed showed a servants' heart by serving as a cub master, little league coach, youth group leader, and volunteer. He had a passion for reading, music, and worship, leading the music at Faith Lutheran Church with his guitar and song.

In 2020, Jed began battling Alzheimer’s disease, enduring the challenges with strength, perseverance, and faith, supported by his devoted family.

A service in memory of Jed will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Homewood, IL on March 1st, 2025 at 10:30 am, followed by a fellowship luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations to South Suburban PADS or St. Rita Hockey program would be appreciated.
