Mary Josephine Davis Doeringer, 91, Remembered for Music, Kindness, and Love of Nature

Mary Josephine Doeringer | Ryan-Tews Funeral Home

Mary Josephine Davis Doeringer, aged 91, of Flossmoor, passed away on March 16th after a battle with cancer. Survived by her children John, Mary, Joseph, and Elizabeth, along with grandchildren Ruth, James, Tallulah, Beatrix, Henry, and Hugo, Mary Jo was predeceased by her husband, John.

Born on September 20, 1933, Mary Jo was a talented pianist with degrees from Greensboro College and the Yale School of Music. She was known for her love of music, spirituality, and compassion for others. A longtime member of Living Springs Community Church, she was an avid reader, a bird enthusiast, and a dedicated correspondent who believed in the importance of human relationships.

A visitation is scheduled for March 28th at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood, with funeral services at Living Springs Community Church on March 29th. Mary Jo's legacy of kindness and encouragement will be deeply missed.
