James V. Creen Sr., 91, Remembered as a Loving Father and Respected Attorney

James V. Creen Sr. | Ryan-Tews Funeral Home

James V. Creen Sr., aged 91, a Korean War Veteran and attorney for 43 years, of Chicago Heights, passed away. He was the beloved husband of Joan Creen, a loving father of Anne Rooney, Jim Jr., Matt, Betsy Kopec, Mary Ellen Hollahan, Tom, M.J., and Joe. He was also a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather.

James was a graduate of Our Lady of Peace School, Leo High School, the University of Illinois, and DePaul Law School. He was an avid golfer, a cut-throat Sorry player, and a parishioner at Infant Jesus of Prague (St. Veronica) Parish. Known for his gentlemanly demeanor and role-model presence, he was admired by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood on Monday, April 21, with a Mass at St. Veronica Church in Flossmoor, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Les Turner Foundation or Miles Jesu.
