Robert Prior, aged 100, passed away, preceded by his beloved wife Shirlee, after being married for 67 years. Survived by his children Donna, Janet, Nancy, and late Mark Prior, Robert was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Prior and brother of the late Donald Prior and Helen Hunt.

Robert faced adversity early in life, experiencing the loss of his mother and time in an orphanage during the Great Depression. He served in the Army during World War II, where he was a cryptographer in the Pacific. After the war, he pursued a career as a photoengraver. Known for his love of travel, he and Shirlee explored the country extensively in retirement. Robert enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and sharing stories with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Mary Mokena Church for Mass. Robert will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.

Memories and condolences can be shared on Robert's Tribute Wall at www.sheehyfh.com or by calling 708-857-7878. Floral arrangements or tree plantings can be sent to the family in Robert's honor.
