Arlene A. Matz, nee Naxera, aged 92, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. She was the cherished wife of the late Donald W. Matz, Sr., with whom she shared fifty-six years of marriage. Arlene was the loving mother of Donald Jr., Michael, and Debra. She leaves behind a legacy of five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Arlene's sister Mildred Baier preceded her in death.

Born on February 26, 1933, in Oak Park, Arlene was a lifelong adventurer who treasured her travels with her dear pen pal Joan from England. Together, they explored various locales, collecting souvenirs and memories along the way. Arlene also found joy in arts and crafts, particularly crocheting with her granddaughter Kristyn. She and her husband shared a passion for gardening, nurturing their plants and canning tomatoes together.

Arlene's ultimate happiness stemmed from her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, relishing the time spent with her beloved family members who brought light and joy to her life.

A visitation for Arlene will be conducted on May 27, 2025, at Krueger Funeral Home in Blue Island, with a funeral service to follow. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
