Catherine "Kay" M. O'Brien (nee Donohoe), age 83, a resident of Burbank, IL, passed away on June 4, 2025. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Albert The Great Catholic Church in Burbank and took pride in her long career at Illinois Bell for over 30 years. Born in Chicago to Irish parents Patrick and Christine Donohoe, Catherine treasured her family and adored her grandchild Lily.

Kay was the loving wife of the late Edward J. O'Brien for 25 years, with their relationship lasting over 40 years. She is survived by her son, Edward (Erica) O'Brien, and her cherished granddaughter, Lily. Kay was the caring sister of Peter and Mary Therese, and the late Christine Dykstra. She was a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews and a beloved cousin to Eileen Heelan, Michael McGee, Daniel McCarthy, Mary Katherine McCarthy, Mary Fitzgerald, and Peter Donohoe. She was also a devoted dog mom to Sheba.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Tinley Park, with prayers on June 9 at the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Albert The Great Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL.
