Celebration of Life for the Late George Hardwick to be Held in Crestwood

Crestwood, IL - George Hardwick, 82, of Crestwood, IL, passed away on July 26, 2025, in the presence of his children. He dedicated over five decades of service to the Crestwood community as a member of the Crestwood Fire Department, embodying the values of mentorship and camaraderie alongside his firefighting duties. A retired truck driver, George enjoyed car shows, socializing over coffee, and being a reliable figure for those in need.

Survived by his three children, Shelley (George) McDaniels, Tammi (Ralph) Adkins, Michael (Laurie) Hardwick, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, George shared his life with his long-time companion Mary Nowak, sister-in-law Andrea, and loyal friend Luca. Predeceased by his wife Bonnie and parents Alfred and Helen, George leaves behind a legacy of heroism and will be profoundly missed.

A Celebration of Life for George Hardwick is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Becvar & Son Funeral Home, located at 5539 W. 127th Street in Crestwood.
