Riad Karam Jreisat, known as Abu Alam, passed away alongside his granddaughter Alya Jeries Riad Jreisat on August 3, 2025, in the United States. He is survived by his wife, Sabah Hayel Sweis, his children Alam and Sandy, Dr. Ali and Dr. Luvenia, Dr. Jeries and Dr. Sally, and Irean and Samir. Riad will be remembered by his siblings Jawaher, Jawahara, and the late Riyad and Sager.

A wake and visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL. The funeral wake and visitation will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Saint Mary Church in Palos Heights, followed by the funeral service. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Alsip.

The Jreisat Family, Salman Family, extended Makhamra and Sweis tribes, along with relatives in Jordan and abroad, mourn the loss of Riad and Alya, finding solace in faith and the promise of eternal life.
