The City of Harvey hosted its annual Fourth of July Celebration on July 4, 2025. The event featured a parade with floats, marching bands, stilt walkers, and community groups. Residents and visitors attended in large numbers to watch the procession.
After the parade, festivities continued outside City Hall on Broadway Avenue. Activities included a carnival with food trucks, bounce houses, rides for all ages, and games for children and families. The celebration concluded with a fireworks display.
The University of Chicago Medicine participated in the event by providing financial support and joining the parade. Staff members represented the organization by walking alongside their float and distributing sunglasses and glow necklaces to attendees. The UChicago Medicine Simulation Unit ambulance was also part of the parade, demonstrating training equipment used for EMTs and nurses.
