City of Palos Heights License, Permits & Franchises Committee met Aug. 12 

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Lewandowski called the License, Permits, and Franchises Committee meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. In attendance were Chairman Lewandowski, Alderman Clifford, Alderman Scully, Building Commissioner Frank Giordano and recording secretary Jan Tomaszewski. Alderman McGrogan was absent.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Chairman Lewandowski moved to approve the minutes of the June 10, 2025 meeting, seconded by Alderman Clifford. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

PERMIT & CODE ENFORCEMENT REPORT

Chairman Lewandowski referred to the permit report in the agenda packet. From July 1st to August 6th, there were 155 permits issued, 870 year-to-date. The fees collected during this time period were $44,979.00, $410,907.40 year-to-date, with a total of $400.00 for re-inspection fees year-to-date. From July 1st to August 6th, there were 8 code compliance violations, 36 year-to-date, and 20 code inspections, 120 year-to-date. Fines year-to-date for code compliance violations are $0.

VEHICLE STICKER REPORT

2025-2026 vehicle stickers went on sale May 16th. From May 16th through August 6th the approximate number of stickers sold is 6,230, for a total collected of $133,000.00.

VARIANCE REQUEST U-SHAPED DRIVEWAY 12332 S CHEYENNE DRIVE

Jim Callahan, owner of 12332 S. Cheyenne Drive, attended to request a variance of a U-shaped driveway due to a medical hardship.

➢ Alderman Clifford motioned to approve the variance request of a U-shaped driveway for 12332 S. Cheyenne Drive, seconded by Alderman Scully. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

There being no further business, Alderman Clifford made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Scully. All in favor.
