Frankfort, IL - Mary Rosalie Cernava of Frankfort, IL, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 12, 1938, in Decatur, IL, Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. She shared 64 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Joseph George Cernava.

Mary was the proud mother of Sandra Stanek, Jackie Harrigan, and Joseph Michael Cernava, finding immense joy in her role as grandmother to Ryan, Katherine, and Megan Harrigan, and Foster and Elly Stanek. As a dedicated homemaker and mother, Mary's warmth, strength, and unwavering love influenced those closest to her.

Remembered for her deep devotion and gentle presence, Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and enduring kindness.

A visitation will be held at Orland Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and a morning visitation at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Frankfort on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The funeral mass will commence at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, followed by burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, at 12:00 pm.
