Leonas Aras Sutkus passed away on September 9, 2025, at Ingalls Memorial Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born on April 18, 1961, in Park Ridge, Illinois, to Ada and the late Pranas Sutkus, Aras was known for his gentle demeanor and quick wit.

Aras was a dedicated employee over the years, including roles as a delivery driver at Impo Tile & Virginia Tile and in warehouse management at Carpet Time. He was also an active member of the Lithuanian Scout community in his youth.

A lover of outdoors, Aras enjoyed golfing, gardening, and smoking and grilling meats for family gatherings. He found solace at Panama City Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed beach days with a cold drink in hand.

Aras is survived by his wife, Anne O’Neill-Sutkus, his mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, grandnephew, and grandniece. He was known for offering peace and assistance to those around him, leaving a void in the lives of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood. The funeral will take place on Monday with prayers at 9:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by Mass at St. Veronica Church and interment at St. Casimir Cemetery.
