City of Palos Heights Planning & Zoning Committee met Aug. 26

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Scully called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. on August 26, 2025. In attendance were:

Chairman Scully, Alderman Lewandowski, Alderman Key and Alderman McGrogan. Also in attendance were Community & Economic Development Coordinator Aimee Ingalls, Recording Secretary Morgan Pukula and 10 guests.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Alderman Lewandowski motioned to approve the special planning and zoning committee meeting minutes from July 22, 2025, seconded by Alderman Key. On a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS

a. Request for proposals finalist presentations for Downtown Palos Heights Development Plan.

Houseal Lavigne was the first presentation that included speakers: Nik Davis, Jack Carso and Brendan May. The project team includes Houseal Lavigne, KLOA and the Meech Group.

Lakota Studios was the second presentation that included speakers: Kevin Clark, Jake Seid and Peter Lemmon. The project team includes Lakota Studios, Sightline Planning and Kimley-Horn.

Lastly, MKSK Studios presented their proposed plan. Speakers included: Brett Weidl, Nick Kalogeresis, Jenny Connelly-Bowen and Mark Bennett. Their project team includes MKSK Studios, Development Strategies and TYLin.

All explained their ideas of a plan, their vision for the downtown area, ideas for public engagement through workshops and online feedback, and working with the current property owners and residents to reach an agreement for a cohesive development plan of Olde Palos.

ADJOURN

There being no further business, Alderman Key motioned to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Lewandowski. All in favor and motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:41 pm.
