Howard A. Ward, 90, of Olympia Fields, formerly of Homewood and a US Army Korean War veteran, passed away on September 22, 2025. A graduate of North Central College and DePaul University, he served as an administrator with Chicago Public Schools for 44 years. Howard was a member of the Homewood VFW Post 8077. Preceded in death by his wife Marguerite, parents Arthur and Irene Ward, and brother Robert (Audrey), he is survived by children Kathy, Barbara, Jeff, Brian, and Christine, grandchildren Serena, Jenna, and Andrew, and brother-in-law Dennis. Visitation will be on September 25, 2025, at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood, with a funeral Mass on September 26, 2025, at St. Veronica Catholic Church, Flossmoor, followed by interment at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park.
