Dawn Scott, chief nursing officer for Franciscan Health in Central Indiana, has received the statewide DAISY Leadership Award from the Indiana Organization for Nursing Leadership (IONL) at its 2025 Fall Conference in Indianapolis.
The conference recognized nurse leaders who show a strong commitment to compassionate and effective leadership. Earlier this year, Scott was also given the Central District DAISY Leadership Award.
"Congratulations to Dawn on this well-deserved honor," said Cathy Wichman, CEO of IONL. "Her selection as the statewide awardee is not only a recognition of her past achievements but also a celebration of the legacy she continues to build. Dawn represents the very best of nursing leadership in Indiana. Thank you for your outstanding service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence in nursing."
The DAISY Foundation partnered with IONL to create this state-level award for nurse leaders who motivate others, encourage healthy work environments, and advance nursing through strong leadership. The award aims to recognize nurses making a significant impact by celebrating their efforts at a local level throughout Indiana.
Scott received her award during a ceremony attended by colleagues, mentors, and family members. The event included stories that highlighted courage, innovation, and dedication within the nursing profession while emphasizing IONL’s focus on leadership, education, advocacy, diversity, ethics, and relationships.
The IONL State DAISY Leadership Awards are presented annually along with district-level honors. More information about these awards and details on how to nominate nurse leaders can be found on the official IONL website.
