The lowest reported price for midgrade gas in Cook County was $3.07 per gallon during the week ending Feb. 21, available at one gas station, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $3.75 per gallon for midgrade gas.
Of the 1,154 reported gas stations located within Cook County, 522 offered midgrade gas.
Across Illinois, the average reported price for a gallon of midgrade gas fell to $3.53, compared to the week before.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
