Bridgeview ranked 161th in state in lottery ticket sales

The village of Bridgeview had the 161th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of March 2016 -- up 20 spots from its February ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Bridgeview was $32.28 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the South Cook News, Bridgeview generated $529,643.50 in net sales from its 12 lottery retailers in March 2016, compared to $566,967 in March 2015.


The village of Bridgeview is in Cook County, and has a population of 16,407, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Worth, Justice, Bedford Park, Oak Lawn, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Chicago, Summit, Palos Hills and Hickory Hills.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in March 2016 was $44,846.27.

Bridgeview's top lottery retailer is R & B Liquors Inc located at 7756 Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, IL 60455.

R & B Liquors Inc generated 27 percent of Bridgeview's March 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Cook County's sales that month, which was $139,157,981.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Cook County in 2015 were Forest View, McCook, Merrionette Park, Calumet Park and Hodgkins.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
